Hat Lady

So, after going to three of the Sips N Strokes classes, and doing a few paintings on my own, I decided to ask how to get a job there.  The owner, Stacy, told me they were actually opening a location close to me in Dunwoody.  First of all, that is AWESOME because I can go to classes A LOT more, since I won't be rushing to get al the way to the other side of town, but also becuase with a new studio, she would need new instructors and helpers.  I sent her an email and one thing led to another and I landed an audition.  ((Insert HUGE grin here))

For whatever reason, I can't seem to get the picture uploaded that I did for the audition, but basically it was a sunset with three crosses on a hill (how appropriate, seeing as I was raised Jewish).

I decided that I really enjoyed painting and I wanted to share my work with everyone else (well, my work with the originals being done by Wendy LoVoy/Sips N Strokes).  I started uploading pictures that I completed on to my Facebook Page, and got a lot of great feedback.  Right off the bat I had people left and right asking me to make them pictures.

Most people wanted the "Funky Tree":

Here is the original, by Wendy LoVoy.

Here is mine.  Not as good, but I like it!

Anyways, I figure I will share a few more of my pieces today:

Long story behind this beautiful angel.  Our apartment flooded a few months ago, and I really just wanted to relax.  I asked my friend to go to Sips N Strokes with me that night.  She wasn't able to, and I didn't even know what was going to be painted that night.  I honestly didn't care.  I went alone, and it ended up being an angel.  Now she hangs on my wall to protect from floods!

And this is the angel I painted for my mom.

This is my "self portrait".  This was one of the first paintings that I did without using an original by Sips N Strokes.  I used the background of one of the images, and the shape of the lady from another.  So still not completely original, but getting closer, and a lot more creative!

This cross now hangs in the living room of one of my co-workers!
