Sips N Strokes

A few months ago, while stalking some friends on Facebook, I came across a picture of one of my friends having a girls night.  They went to an art studio, brought a bottle of wine, and learned how to paint a picture.  The picture that was being taught that night was an abstract tree.
I loved the colors, and I loved that even though they were all painting the same thing, each one came out just a little differently.  I noticed in one of the captions there was a mention of the studio where this took place.  It is called Sips n Strokes.  I am not completely sure, but I believe that Claire went with some friends to one of the locations in Alabama.  I went to their website, and wanted to see if there was a location near me.  I thought, what a great idea for a girls night out.  It also peaked my creative side, and when I found out there was a location in East Cobb, I was knew I had to go.

I called my best friend, and asked her if she would be interested in coming with me.  She was all about it.  I wanted to get more people in on it, but it was short notice, and most people are terrified!!  We went, and had a great time.  It is a relaxed atmosphere, and as soon as I started painting (and sipping on my wine) all of my stress from the past work week just melted away.

Here's the finished product.

As soon as we were done, I wanted to paint another one.  I just couldn't wait to go to another class.  I kept thinking about it and thinking about it, until finally we went to another class.  Here's a picture from that one...

I had a blast with this one, and even had my boyfriend come along.

Anyway, long story short, after going to two classes I was hooked on painting.  I've done a lot of paintings that are Sips N Strokes originals, however I am slowly becoming more confident and trying to create my own masterpieces.  I have finally found something that I enjoy doing, and the best part is, I get to display my hard work all over the house!
